Dr Idris Anwar

Dr. Idris, MB BCh BAO, is a General Practitioner Trainee based in Wellington, New Zealand. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Obstetrics from the National University of Ireland and brings international clinical experience across healthcare systems in both New Zealand and Malaysia for the past 5 years.

Through his clinical training, Dr. Idris gained extensive experience in general medicine, emergency medicine, orthopaedics, and acute patient care, developing a strong foundation in delivering care that took a patient-centred approach. He has also worked in telemedicine and remote healthcare, often managing cases of patients who either had limited access to traditional in-clinic appointments or found the process of getting hospital treatment daunting.

An interest towards men’s health began with a simple observation: many men of all ages were quietly struggling with issues such as low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, medical weight management and hormone imbalances, because of a societal stigma, issues that often went about unaddressed for years on end. These concerns affects far more than physical health, they can affect ones mental well-being, impacting self-confidence, relationships, and overall quality of life.

His approach with patients focuses on delivering a discreet, professional, and judgement-free space where men can openly discuss their concerns and receive practical, evidence-based treatment. By combining medical expertise with the convenience of telehealth, it allows for patients to take control of their health without the barrier and hurdles that may come with traditional in-clinic appointments.

He holds a simple guiding principle: To make it easier for men to take control of their health and get the support they need. Without stigma, without embarrassment, and with care they can trust.
